Have You Heard About The New Electrification Strategy from Volvo?

Flying cars may not yet be in vogue. But automotive innovation is far from stagnant, especially for automaker Volvo Cars. From 2019 forward, Volvo is planning to release solely electrified vehicles. While this does not mean that Volvo will be an electric-car-exclusive manufacturer like automaker Tesla, it is most definitely a step towards a greener future. All-electric cars are definitely in the cards for Volvo, though. In fact, from 2019 to 2021, the company plans to release five all-electric vehicles.

United Nations Recognizes Volvo

True innovation can only go unnoticed for so long. The United Nations has recently recognized Volvo for it's sustainable efforts. Part of the U.N. Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative Volvo has committed itself to heralding in an age of sustainable automotive innovation. Thanks to the momentous efforts of Volvo to meet the United Nation's sustainable Development goal, it has also been recognized within the Global Compact as a LEAD member.

The president and chief executive of Volvo cars, Hakan Samuelsson, has the following to say about why Volvo has made such strides in the sustainable community: “We’re doing this because we think this is the right future for Volvo Cars, and that it will make us stronger. It’s sound business".
