What to Look for When Visually Inspecting Your Tires

Flat tires are the bane of every car owner’s existence. Preventing them is not difficult. Periodically checking them can stop this from occurring. Here are a few things you should look for when visually inspecting your tires.

The tread should be even on all four wheels. If it is not this could be due to over or under inflation. Over time it can lead to tires being unbalanced or misaligned. Tread that appears more worn down on the front may need a rotation. We will be happy to fix this problem for you at our shop.

Keep an eye out for areas that appear damaged. Foreign bodies such as rocks, metal, nails, and glass may be embedded in the tread. Make sure to check for any bulges, cracks, or punctures.

If you are in doubt or don’t know what to look for, feel free to bring the car by and we will happily check your tires for you.
