Even More Tips to Winterize Your Volvo

The winter brings some of the most beautiful months of the year, but they can also be the harshest on your vehicle. Your Volvo is already built to excel year round, but there are ways you can set it up for even more success. To follow up on our last post, here are even more tips for winterizing your Volvo:

  • Needless to say, it's a little tough to see when ice and snow collects on your windshield. Install heavy duty winter wiper blades that can clear it off. Also keep an ice scraper and extra washer fluid in your vehicle.
  • Keep an emergency kit in your Volvo at all times, because you simply never know what might happen on the winter roads. Pack extra warm clothing and blankets, snacks, emergency flares, a flashlight and batteries, and a car phone charger. It's also helpful to have kitty litter and a shovel in case you get stuck.
  • The cold can make engine issues worse. Make sure you're keeping with your routine oil and filter change schedule (every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, depending on your model) to maintain the health of your engine.

Routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, couldn't be easier when you schedule a service appointment at our Service Center. Our highly skilled service technicians are fully prepared to get it done with speed and accuracy, so you can get back on the roads in Hamilton, Mason, and Fairfield.

Happy winter driving!
